A full, unedited interview with the 2022 WWD Industry Icon Dr. Majid Khan.

Dr. Majid Khan is the Great Lakes Water Authority wastewater operations director and the 2022 WWD Industry Icon. Kahn is responsible for the agency meeting its phosphorus reduction goals ahead of schedule, leading the operations of one of the world’s largest wastewater plants, and making a point to be a mentor to his employees and aspiring students interested the water workforce.

He is active in Water Environment Federation committees, sits on planning committees for GLWA, and is an adjunct professor at a local community college. Dr. Khan also share his philosophy on leadership and why he is so passionate about the industry.
